The Large Fossil Display is a case for displaying Fossils. Only large Fossil pieces can be placed in this display case; pieces meant for other Display sizes will be automatically dropped if placed inside.

It can be placed on any flat surface 17 blocks wide, but also needs an area 10 blocks tall clear of any obstructions for placement. It does not provide a stacking surface.

Interacting with the placed Display opens a container window. Placing Fossil pieces inside will display them inside the case, automatically re-positioning the pieces into their correct slot. Fossils can be displayed in an incomplete state, but picking the incomplete Display up with the Matter Manipulator will drop its contents as normal Storage objects do.

Once a complete set of 5 pieces is placed in the Display, it will be gated with a velvet rope, permanently turning it into a new single item that can be picked up and re-placed like normal decorative objects, without requiring re-assembly. Currently, the three complete Fossil sets possible with the Large Fossil Display are the Ixodoom Fossil, Ophidaunt Fossil, and T-Rex Fossil. All three have the same placement and Tenant Tag properties as an empty Display. When examined, the player character will recite the completed item's tooltip descriptor rather than the empty case's descriptor.

Floran :	Fosssil Display isss good.
Glitch :	Interested. A fossil will be displayed here.
Human :	Feels a bit sad without a complete fossil to show.
Hylotl :	I'd be more interested if there were a complete fossil displayed here.
Novakid :	Looks good. Look a whole lot better with a complete fossil...
