Shockhopper MK I is a Tier 4 mini boss which must be defeated to complete Penguin Weaponry Testing Site, a quest offered by the penguin scientist Dr. Akaggy.

The mini-boss will drop Shockhopper Mech Mk I, a codex entry about the boss. It will also drop Chest Money Treasure (97.5% chance) or a Shockhopper MK I Figurine (2.5% chance).

Mechanics

Shockhopper has a number of mechanics and attacks. The boss uses melee attacks, missiles a ranged flamethrower and electric balls. Try to keep from staying too close and use walls to protect from flamethrower damage, hide from the balls when he does his AOE and shoot/slash missiles to reduce damage

Skills

Punch Melee attack that strikes at the player from close range. Deals 125 damage.
Missile Barrage Missiles that deal 62.5 damage when struck. Can be intercepted using projectiles/bullets. (Or Melee, if you're really brave.) 3 missiles are launched while above 50% health, 5 while below 50% health.
Overload Fires energy orbs in a circular motion which deal 31.25 damage on contact.
Flamethrower A large stream of damaging fire. Each flame deals 15.625 damage, but damage can stack up quickly.
Dash 2000 Quickly rushes forward, damaging players for 125 damage on contact.

Strategy

Apart from the Missile Barrage and Overload skills, most of Shockhopper's attacks have a hard time hitting targets above the boss - to exploit this, wield a one-handed gun with a Grappling Hook so you can hang out of reach during these attacks while shooting the boss.
