Triplod are a unique monster added to game files in the Glad Giraffe update. They were not implemented in the game until update 1.3.0. They are only found in various Space Encounters, in The Dantalion mission, and in the Advanced Test Drive mission. They also appear in the disabled cultistlair.

They can crawl up walls and on ceilings, and fire a bolt of electricity from their eye as their primary attack.

Trivia

• Triplods seem to be connected in some way to the USCM, given their presence among installations formerly operated by that organization.

• The name Triplod may be a portmanteau of "tripod" and "plod", which means to walk slowly.
