Magma is a primary biome type characterized by vast oceans of deadly lava. Magma planets are an 'inconceivable' threat level, geared toward tier 6 in progression. Not to be confused with the also hot volcanic biome, this biome is primarily lava ocean.

Magma planets can be found orbiting frozen (blue) and fiery (red) star types. Unless players have a Cooling EPP Upgrade equipped they'll take increasing damage while on the surface from deadly heat.

Coming into contact with lava will apply both burning and melting, depleting player health very quickly. An easy method of traveling across the ocean surface is to bring a large supply of water - when water comes into contact with lava it will change the surface of the lava into magmarock which can be safely walked on.

The lava found on magma planets is infinite, and cannot be drained. All air below surface level is replaced with lava. To build under the ocean and not have lava spawn inside your structure, you must replace the background and foreground with blocks, then remove the foreground blocks and lava will stop spawning.

At night the lava oceans cast a faint glow of light.

Navigation Console
* This dangerously hot planet is chiefly composed of magma. Remember, your resilient spirit is admirable, but it is not flame retardant.
* The planet surface is dangerously hot. Few creatures eek out an existence amongst the planet's vast oceans of magma.
*The beam site is a tiny island isolated in a sea of magma. That you would consider visiting this searingly hot planet speaks volumes of your fortitude.

Materials
The surface layer of magma planets are primarily made up of lava, along with scattered small islands made up of obsidian and ash.

Magma planets are mostly covered in lava which spawns endlessly. There's no way to gather all of the lava found in the oceans.

Ores can be found on surface islands, including copper, silver ore, gold, aegisalt, ferozium, violium and solarium available in small quantities. Most ore is accessible beneath the ocean floor.
Sub Biomes
Magma planets do not have any sub biomes which appear, and magma does not appear as a sub biome on any other planet types.
Mini Biomes
There are no mini-biomes found on the surface or underwater on magma planets.

Layers
Magma planets deviate somewhat from planetary standards due to being ocean-type planets.

*Space: Asteroids
*Atmosphere: Atmosphere
*Surface: Magma (Primary Biome)
**Note: For ocean-type planets, the surface layer begins at y=1050 and the ocean surface is at y=1150 regardless of planet size.
*Subsurface: Magma Ocean Floor
*Shallow Underground: Tarpit, Mushrooms, Wilderness, Mini Village, Underground 0a, Underground 0b, Underground 1a, or Underground 1b
*Mid Underground: Luminous Caves, Stone Caves, Bone Caves, Ice Caves, Underground 0c, Underground 1c, Underground 1d, Underground 3a, Underground 3b, Underground 3c, or Underground 3d
*Core: Blaststone Core Layer, Magmarock Core Layer, or Obsidian Core Layer

Weather
Weather on magma planets is either clear with a chance of luminous rain, or clear with a chance of luminous rain, in addition to small or large meteorites. Each magma planet has one of these two pools of weather, and it will not change. Magma planets without a meteorite shower chance will never have meteor shower weather.

Weather happens for each planet based on the weights given to the weather types (probability is calculated by dividing a single weight by the sum of all weights); the probability for weather types on magma planets is as follows:
Wildlife
In addition to procedurally generated creatures, there are a variety of unique monsters, bugs and critters found in magma biomes. Some of these are also found in other biomes, while others are unique only to magma biomes. While these unique creatures have a chance to appear on magma planets, they will not all appear on each one. In addition to unique creatures, each biome has multiple types of both procedural ground and flying creatures.

Unique monsters each have combat attacks, and they must first be weakened before capture. Once weakened players can attempt to capture using a capture pod. If successful they can then be released to battle alongside and follow the player.

Critters are smaller non-combat unique creatures which are not capturable using capture pods. They can be captured without weakening them first by using a relocator gun. After releasing a critter from the relocator it will stay in the area it was released into.

Bugs are very small unique creatures which can be captured using a bug net, and are then stored inside placeable jars. Bugs which are captured using a relocator will fly after release instead of being kept inside a jar.

Integrating the Printable-attribute to all furniture and decoration items
It would be nice to see at a glance if an item must be purchased from merchants or it can be printed after scanned.

I'm wondering if there is a way to automatically link the data from the "Printable" and "Non-Printable" pages to specific item pages.

Any ideas?
What's up with the goddarn captcha ? This captcha is HARD ! Change it my god ! This is easier to do as a computer than a human !
Hey it's me again. The captcha rant guy...
Captcha is officially broken. Sorry if I offend you, but can we use a good one now ?
::You're not offending me, but the captcha isn't broken from what I can see. Try writing the number out and then counting digits from the right to left (the right most digit is the first).

::There aren't that many cases where the captcha is going to be triggered, mostly when new pages created. Admining a wiki means constantly fighting spammers, and this captcha has actually been really successful for that - I've probably tried 4 or 5 different ones and it's worked the best by far.

::Instead of just saying "Change it!" and "Can we use a good one?", do you have any suggestions for a better one that would be just as effective? Katzeus (talk) 12:58, 28 August 2016 (EDT)

The Floran starter ship has design influences from other races ships. The reason in rooted in Floran lore, which defines the race as scavengers, stealing technology from other races.

The ship appears overgrown with plant life, and has a skeleton mounted to the front.
Ship Upgrades
As the player progresses farther into the story of Starbound, they'll unlock additional modules on their starter ship. These additional modules provide more space on the ship for players to place objects, as well as crafting stations, containers, and furniture.

Initially the players ship is broken, and the first stage of the story is to repair it. After that the ship engines need to be repaired. By the third stage of upgrade the ship is fully repaired and additional stages increase size.

After repairing the ship FTL drive the player will open a variety of missions that will allow them to upgrade the side of their ship. These quests are given at the outpost and are as follows;

* Upgrade 1 - Sparrow Ship Upgrade or Shady Sparrow Ship Upgrade
* Upgrade 2 - Kestrel Ship Upgrade or Questionable Kestrel Ship Upgrade
* Upgrade 3 - Falcon Ship Upgrade or Fishy Falcon Ship Upgrade
* Upgrade 4 - Eagle Ship Upgrade or Illicit Eagle Ship Upgrade
* Upgrade 5 - Condor Ship Upgrade or Crooked Condor Ship Upgrade

Mollygos originally shared pictures of the complete Floran upgrade set in a posting on playstarbound.com.
Trivia
* The original model for the Floran ship was an Apex Ship covered in vines. While not identical to the Apex starter ship, it was very similar in shape and design, and when the pilot seat was examined, Floran characters would observe that it "smells like Apex butt".
* The Floran ship is built out of other race's ship parts: A Glitch ship's cannons, an Avian ship's pyramid top(and a part of an Avian ship's bottom platform at the rear of the ship when the Floran ship upgrades into a Condor Class ship), An Apex ship's cockpit, A Human ship's thruster. The ship itself has a Human ship's base.

Liquid is a gatherable resource found on planets of all types. Some liquids damage the player, while others can be used in crafting and as fuel.

Liquid is gathered using the Matter Manipulator, which will stack units of liquid as items in players inventory. Before liquids can be gathered, the Matter Manipulator's Expansion Slot must be upgraded one level to allow for liquid collection. To place liquids, one needs to place background tiles in addition to foreground blocks, otherwise the liquid will flow "out" through the back and disappear.
