Flamethrower is a Tier 2 Unique Weapon. Previously this was a weapon class but all procedurally generated versions of this weapon have been removed, possibly because of the addition of the Rocket Spear special attack on some spears.

The weapon's long description reads as follows: "Love the smell of napalm, any time of day."

The Flamethrower's left-hand ability, aptly called Flamethrower, consumes 30 energy per second while in use. While Flamethrower is active, fire-type projectiles with a base power of 0.975 are released every 0.065 seconds (in other terms, the fire rate is ~15.4), producing a base DPS of 15. Enemies hit by this ability are inflicted with Burning.

The Flamethrower's right-hand ability, called Fuel Air Trail, consumes 12.5 energy per cloud placed. Holding down the secondary attack key creates fuel-air clouds, and releasing the secondary attack key, placing the mouse cursor over solid terrain, or running out of energy detonates all clouds starting with the closest cloud to the player, dealing 7.2 base fire damage per cloud to enemies and inflicting Burning on them. Fuel-air clouds will dissipate if left alone for too long.

When upgraded at a Weapon Upgrade Anvil to tier 6, Flamethrower's base DPS increases to 35, producing a new base projectile power of 2.275; additionally, fuel-air cloud base power increases to 16.8. As well, the Flamethrower takes on a new appearance, shown below.

Apart from the addition of a gold star to the name, no other changes occur as a result of the upgrade.
