Obstacles

Obstacles are hazardous objects that inflict damage whenever the player comes in contact with it. Unlike items like Sawblade Trap and Tesla Spike that also damage the player, Obstacles are unobtainable and are destroyed when broken. Obstacles do not harm NPCs or mobs.

There are Obstacles specific to arid, desert, jungle, ice, magma, and savannah biomes. Most biomes have variants that appear from both the ground and ceiling, like stalagmites and stalactites.

Variants

These are the current variants of Obstacles, in no particular order:

Icons, Descriptions, and File Names

While these objects are unobtainable, they are listed in the game files as items, complete with descriptions.

All ceiling Obstacles have the icon , and have the description "Watch out!"

All ground Obstacles have the icon , and have the description "Don't wanna step in those..."

Most Obstacles have the following race descriptions:

Apex:	Sharp stone spikes.
Avian:	The stone looks razor sharp.
Floran:	Sssharp and pointy.
Glitch:	Cautious. Sharp rock could penetrate Glitch shell.
Human:	I'd better not touch these.
Hylotl:	I will gracefully avoid these.

The first of two exceptions is for the plantlike, ground-type variants:

Apex:	Sharp. I'd better avoid them.
Avian:	If only I could fly.
Floran:	Plant no friend of Floran.
Glitch:	Cautious. These look dangerous.
Human:	Very sharp thorns.
Hylotl:	These look deadly.

The other exception is for all ice-like variants:

Apex:	Sharp icy spikes.
Avian:	The ice looks razor sharp.
Floran:	Sssharp and pointy.
Glitch:	Cautious. Sharp ice could penetrate Glitch shell.
Human:	I'd better not touch these.
Hylotl:	I will gracefully avoid these.

With two exceptions, all Obstacles have the item name of "Sharp spikes.", complete with punctuation; the exceptions being the first two pictured sets, called "Stalactite" and "Thorns", respectively.
