The weapon's long description reads as follows: "Unleash the power of nature!"
The Vine Fist's standard hits have a base power of 7.2 and a 0.3-second delay before another punch can be thrown.
If a Vine Fist is wielded with a second fist weapon, a three-step combo and the Snap Root finisher become available to use. To advance through the combo, each punch must be followed within 0.5 seconds by another punch with the same hand. Once the combo is completed, the last punch of the combo must be followed within 0.5 seconds by another punch with the same hand to perform the finisher associated with the opposite hand's fist weapon. Alternating hands (alternating left mouse and right mouse) will not cause a finisher to occur thus allowing a player to pummel enemies with regular attacks and execute a finisher when they wish.
The finisher, Snap Root, is a long-ranged punch depicted by the front of the fist shooting forwards on a vine, then retracting, that stops the player in place. It has a base power of 18, and performing it incurs a 0.2-second delay before another punch can be thrown with either hand.
The Vine Fist cannot be found anywhere in the universe. The only way to acquire one is to convert a normal Gauntlet into a Vine Fist, either by crafting it yourself using the blueprint - which appears where other generic Legendary items appear - or by having it crafted for you at Biggy's Reputable Weaponry.
When upgraded at a Weapon Upgrade Anvil to tier 6, standard attack damage increases to 8.4, and Snap Root's damage increases to 21. Additionally, Vine Fist's appearance changes to the one shown below, and Snap Root launches the fist out on a flowering vine rather than a plain vine.
Apart from the addition of a gold star to the name, no other changes occur as a result of the upgrade.
