The Genesis Coil

The Genesis Coil is the Apex artifact found at the end of the Miniknog Stronghold. It was gifted to the Apex by the Cultivator in hopes that they may one day unite with the other races and use the artifacts to unseal the Monolith Gate and defeat The Ruin.

It appears to be some sort of device shaped like a DNA helix. It is unknown if the Cultivator designed their artifact this way in reference to the Apex's DNA editing or if the artifact is what ultimately lead the Miniknog to develop it. Since The Genesis Coil is found in an abandoned part of Miniknog Stronghold #1 beneath a Ministry of Knowledge Sign, it's most likely that it came into their possession before the distribution of the Vestigi-Evo Process, as that had coincided with the Ministry's rebranding as the Miniknog. The word "Genesis" being in the artifact's name also may imply that it was related to the creation of something, potentially hinting at some sort of connection to the Vestigi-Evo Process. Regardless of whatever purpose it may or may not have served, the artifact seems to have been forgotten by the time the Player finds it.
