Broadsword Swipe.gif
Broadswords are the two handed sword class. They are slower and more powerful than one-handed shortswords. They cannot be aimed directionally, outside swinging in whatever direction the player is facing.

Because broadswords cannot be equipped with a shield some have the ability to parry attacks. This is similar to blocking with a shield, but the duration is limited and must be recharged before using again. There are also a variety of special broadswords found throughout the universe with unique effects, attacks, projectiles and appearances.

Base Statistics

  • Base DPS: 10.0-11.0 health per second (Common), 10.5-11.5 health per second (Uncommon/Rare)
  • Fire Time: 0.71-0.90 seconds between 1x-damage attacks (approx. 1.1-1.4 1x-damage attacks per second)
  • Combo Progression:
    • First Strike: 1x damage, 15 knockback (somewhat weak knockback)
    • Second Strike: 0.5x damage, 10 knockback (weak knockback)
    • Third Strike: 1x damage, 25 knockback (somewhat strong knockback)

Elemental Damage

Most uncommon and rare broadswords have an assigned elemental damage type. Some damage types are more effective against specific enemies than others. In addition to determining the damage type, each elemental also applies a status effect. These can be damaging (like burning, poison, or electrified) or offer control by impairing enemy movement (like frost). The elemental damage type of each weapon is indicated by the corresponding icon in the in-game tooltip.

The secondary special attacks for rare and uncommon broadswords are shared, but only rare broadswords will apply status effects with their primary attack.

Special Attacks

Special attacks are secondary attack types available for each melee weapon. The attacks available are different based on weapon type and rarity. For example a common rarity broadsword would never have any uncommon specials assigned to it.

Premade and crafted weapons have specific specials assigned based on their weapon type as well, but they do not change.

Common Specials

Common special attacks are those found on common rarity broadswords. They do not deal any specific elemental damage and apply no status effects.

^ The only case in which you can afford Blade Charge's energy cost is if you're in a Tier 6 Accelerator armor set or Perfect Set, have Energy III Augment installed in your EPP, and have Bonus Energy Food buff active. When all of these are true, your max energy rises to 336 (16 more than the 320 energy required by Blade Charge), allowing you to use this move two times in a row before you completely deplete your energy pool and have to wait for full recharge.

Uncommon Specials

Rare and Uncommon rarity broadswords have a unique set of special secondary attacks. They consume energy when used, but unlike their common counterparts these attacks apply a status effect based on the elemental damage type.
