Metal Trap Door is a door type object associated with decayed biomes. It is placed horizontally, opens automatically when a player or NPC steps onto it, and closes automatically after players or NPCs are no longer stepping on it. Unlike most doors, it has no wiring inputs or outputs, cannot be opened manually, nor can it be opened from beneath, making it suitable as an automatic trap door and little else.

The door is found only in two decayed microdungeons that are disabled and therefore do not appear in the base game. The only way for the player to obtain this door is by purchasing it from a Deadbeat merchant.

When broken using a mining tool such as the matter manipulator, it drops nothing.
