Metal Trap Door is a decayed-themed hatch. It is placed horizontally, opens automatically when a player or NPC steps onto it, and closes automatically after players or NPCs are no longer on it. Unlike most doors, it has no wiring inputs or outputs, cannot be opened manually, nor can it be opened from beneath, making it suitable as an automatic trap door and little else. Temple Pressure Platform is the only other hatch that shares this function.

The door appears only in two disabled decayed microdungeons and therefore does not generate naturally. The only way to obtain this door is to buy it from a Deadbeat merchant.

When broken using a mining tool such as the matter manipulator, it drops nothing.
