Microwave is a Crafting Station. It allows crafting of the same set of recipes as the campfire.

Not to be confused with the Microwave Oven, the microwave cannot be found in any dungeon or microdungeon in the Starbound universe. It does exist in the game assets for one space encounter (bountyspaceencounter/encounter_1), but that encounter is not enabled. However, the microwave is not considered to be disabled, because it is possible, if somewhat unlikely, for it to become stocked at a human merchant for whom the player has completed random merchant quests.

Racial Descriptions


Apex :	A device for quickly cooking food.
Avian :	A bit like an oven, but quicker.
Floran :	Machine for heating sssnacks. Floran used one before.
Glitch :	Uncomfortable. Microwaves can be somewhat damaging to Glitch circuitry.
Human :	I once microwaved a salad. It wasn't too bad, actually!
Hylotl :	A method of cooking for those who do not care about the quality of their preparation.
Novakid :	Not sure what this machine does... But it smells like somethin' died in there.
