Terrene Peacekeepers
The Terrene Peacekeepers were an Earth-based law enforcement organization of detectives and bounty hunters, likewise known as Peacekeepers, that operated alongside the Terrene Protectorate, tasked with the goal of taking down any criminals that threatened to disrupt the peace on Earth.
About
The destruction of Earth decimated the Peacekeepers and left possibly the only surviving member of the organization, Captain Noble, stranded alone in a derelict asteroid base with no support or funds. With the help of the player, the Peacekeepers have begun to operate throughout the galaxy, hiring bounty hunters to bolster their diminished ranks. The Peacekeepers storyline consists of a series of quests to kill violent monsters and apprehend members of randomly-generated NPC criminal gangs, with the ultimate Peacekeeper mission being to bring Asra Nox to justice. Even after her defeat however, the player can choose to continue to bring law and order out to the wider galaxy as the Peacekeeper questline's tier 6 bounties are able to be repeated as many times as desired.
For every criminal gang the player defeats, up until tier 6, the Peacekeeper Stations they're assigned to improve, including new utilities such as vendors, Mech Assembly Stations, and Mech Part Crafting Tables. Peacekeeper stations also slowly develop a Neon aesthetic to match their synthwave Music Tracks. Once the player has reached tier 6 however, the Peacekeeper station will no longer undergo upgrades and instead adopt a random preset layout for the sake of variety.
Equipment
The standard issue Peacekeeper Uniform is heavily based on a traditional police uniform and is seemingly worn by all on duty Peacekeepers (excluding the player), with the hat being an optional part of the set. Its color palette exactly matches the Protectorate Set. The Frogg working at Peacekeeper Furnishings wears their own version of the uniform, including a unique hat resembling the Custodian helmet worn by Police Officers in the United Kingdom.
The Peacekeepers also possess their own unique weaponry and gear, including a variety of weapons of both lethal and non-lethal nature, advanced laser-based mining equipment, mech parts, augments, and more, all obtained within their store.
Trivia
- The names of the Peacekeeper's ranks seem to be loosely based on United States law enforcement ranks instead of the United Kingdom's as the title "Captain" does not exist in UK law enforcement.
- While the Miniknog appear to have their own policing force referred to as peace-keepers, they are an entirely unrelated organization however, as the hyphen in their name helps to indicate.
