Assault Rifle
Assault Rifle is a two-handed procedurally generated rifle weapon model.
It can be common, uncommon, and rare. Common Assault Rifles will shoot bullets, while uncommon and rare Assault Rifles shoot elemental plasma type projectiles.
Base Statistics
- Base DPS: 9.0-10.0 health per second (Common), 9.5-10.5 health per second (Uncommon/Rare)
- Energy Usage: 27-30 energy per second (Common), 28.5-31.5 energy per second (Uncommon/Rare)
- Average Fire Time: 0.11-0.18 seconds between bullets (approx. 5.6-9.1 bullets per second)
- Knockback Power: 4-8 (very weak knockback)
- Fire Mode: Automatic or Burst
- Burst Count: 2-4 bullets
- Burst Delay: 0.075 seconds between consecutive bullets within a burst
NPC-Exclusive Variants
Most NPCs that use assault rifles, including the Outlaw and Soldier Crew members, use the NPC Assault Rifle. Floran hostiles use the Floran Assault Rifle, and Deadbeat hostiles in Decayed biomes use the Deadbeat Assault Rifle. All NPC-exclusive assault rifles, though they may differ from each other in appearance, have the same base statistics.

Elemental Damage
Uncommon and Rare weapons have an assigned elemental damage type. Uncommon assault rifles can only inflict status effects with special attacks, but rare assault rifles inflict status effects with all attacks.

- Description: Fires special projectiles which bounce off of surfaces.
- Damage Multiplier: 1.5x
- Energy Usage: 40 energy per second

- Explosive Shot
- Description: Fires special projectiles which explode on contact.
- Damage Multiplier: 1.75x
- Energy Usage: 50 energy per second
- Spray n' Pray
- Description: Sprays an inaccurate storm of bullets which can annihilate foes.
- Base DPS: 30 health per second
- Energy Usage: 75 energy per second
- Fire Time: 0.04 seconds between shots (25 bullets per second)
- Flashlight
- Description: Shines a light in the direction of aim.
Uncommon/Rare Only
- Energy Lance
- Description: Produces a spike of elemental energy which impales enemies in melee range, knocking them back.
- Base Damage: 10 health
- Knockback: 40 (very strong knockback)
- Energy Usage: 50 energy
- Cooldown: 1.0 seconds
- Explosive Burst
- Description: Shoots a burst of bullets which explode in the area around the aim cursor. Note: Liquids slow these projectiles causing them to explode halfway.

- Average Fire Time: 0.2 seconds between bullets
- Burst Count: 5 bullets
- Burst Time: 0.05 seconds between consecutive bullets within a burst
- Minimum Travel Distance: 5 tiles before explosion
