Liquid

Liquids are gatherable resources found on all planet types. Each liquid has a unique gimmick, varying in their hindrance and contribution to the player. Most liquids can be used in crafting, while fuelable liquids can serve as fuel.

Matter Manipulator can gather liquids and stack units of liquid as items in inventory. Gathering liquids needs the Matter Manipulator's liquid Expansion Slot. To place liquids, one needs background tiles in addition to foreground blocks, otherwise the liquid will flow 'out' through the back and disappear. Some tiles with visible gaps like Metal Bars and Wicker Support Blocks will still let liquids flow through.

Interactions

Some liquids react with each other while others don't. Pairs that don't react are left blank.

Coconut Milk Same Liquid
Healing Water Same Liquid Water becomes Healing Water
Lava Same Liquid Oil becomes Lava Slime becomes Lava Creates Magmarock

Dislodging

Liquids dislodge objects that have the maximumLiquidLevel property. If the liquid is deep enough to reach the object's maximumLiquidLevel, the object breaks. When you're in a village during rain/storm and the rainwater can't drain fast enough, you may accidentally pick them up and get accused of stealing.

Unobtainable liquids

Lava has an unobtainable variant, Core Lava, at the core of most Planets. Unlike normal lava, Core Lava cannot become Magmarock and will evaporate any liquid that cannot usually be converted to lava.

Slime has an unused variant, jellyliquid. Jelly behaves the same and even provides Slime when collected, though it glows green and has a texture similar to Jelly Blob blocks.

When adding a very small amount of a liquid to a much larger body of another liquid, it may increase the quantity of the larger liquid rather than creating the expected reaction. This can be used to make infinite liquid duplicators on Liquid worlds, which are most often used for Liquid Erchius Fuel.
