Liquid Erchius Fuel is a gatherable liquid. Each unit provides 1 unit of fuel for player ships.

It is found in underground caverns on moons. Players must unlock the liquid collection upgrade for their Matter Manipulator before they can gather liquid fuel. Alternatively, it can be purchased from Infinity Express at the Outpost, or looted from industrial canisters found in certain NPC ships and space encounters.

While a player is on a moon with fuel in their inventory, an Erchius Ghost will appear and pursue the player until they leave the moon.

An alternative source for fuel is Crystal Erchius Fuel, which can be gathered by players who haven't unlocked the liquid collection upgrade.

Trivia

Unlike any other liquid, it's the only liquid to have a sell price. Also, when it touches the lava ocean at the core of most planets, nothing happens (all other liquids either convert into lava or evaporate entirely). In fact, it normally has no interactions with other liquids at all.
