Nude is a hidden status effect that makes the player appear without any equipped armor. It is applied when interacting with certain objects (e.g., sleeping in beds and tents, as well as when "trapped" in some cages) and is removed immediately when the interaction with the object ends.

Although all clothing and armor appears to be removed from the player (in both the main game screen and in the portrait and inventory windows), stats remain unchanged. If a player is harmed while "nude", they will retain their equipped armor's defensive benefits.
