Gold Pickaxe is a tool that deals 2.5 damage 10 times per 3 seconds to blocks in a 3x3 square. It was formerly the fourth tier pickaxe, but as of version 1.1.1 is now the third tier pickaxe.

Gold Pickaxes used to only mine platinum, aegisalt, plutonium, and any lower-tier ore. Higher-tier ores (and the blocks housing them) would not drop if mined by this tool. As of version 1.1.1, however, Gold Pickaxes can now successfully mine all materials.

This pickaxe was craftable in early beta, but was made uncraftable in update Pleased Giraffe. As of version 1.1.1, it can only be purchased at Ursa Miner once the Player has completed Fetch the Floran Artifact.
