Iron Ore is a mineable ore which yields Iron Bars when smelted at a furnace. Each ore can be refined into 10 pixels using a Refinery.

It can be found on Garden, Forest, and Desert planets.

More specifically:

On Garden planets iron can be found on the surface and all the way to its core.
On Desert and Forest planets iron cannot be found on the surface, but starts to become available underground rather quickly.

The chances of finding iron ore increases the deeper one digs. Lush planets are the best for farming iron.
