Foundry

Foundry is a mini-biome on Volcanic planets. It features metal forges and NPCs who act as workers and guards. The metallic trees in foundries drop Metal Coated Wood when felled. Pockets of the foundry biome can be created by using a Rusty Microformer.

The foundry biome replaced the beta Rust mini-biome. While the rust trees in that biome dropped saplings, the metallic trees in the foundry biome do not, and therefore are not considered to be a renewable resource.

Foundry is an object tag associated with objects and furniture that are associated with foundry mini-biomes. These objects are used for spawning Foundry Merchant tenants. The foundry merchant offers the following goods for sale. This merchant is a slightly cheaper, albeit late-game, alternative to the Ursa Miner shop at the outpost.
